一、介绍
德明政府中学的双文化课程不仅是教育部于2005年设立的深广课程，也是中文及英文文艺两个语文部门的结合体，亦称为双文化课程学院。作为一个注重培育双语人才的综合学院，双文化课程旨在给德明学生奠下良好的语文基础，以备他们日后有能力学习高中"理解与写作General Paper"（必修）、"知识与探究"、中国通识"以及"华文与文学"。与此同时，双文化课程也力求教育学生扩大视野，增强他们的学习思维能力，以迎接未来全球化趋势所带来的各种挑战。
所有中一至中四直通车德明学生除了学习高级华文及英文文艺，他们也必须上双文化深广课程，而中三及中四的学生若成绩优秀被录取参加"双文化课程"，将能上"中国通史深广课"，并有机会参加德明中国及美国双文化浸濡课程。
Introduction
In Dunman High, Bicultural Studies Programme (DHS-BSP) not only refers to the special enrichment programme set up by Ministry of Education in 2005, it also refers to the integrated academy of both Chinese and English language arts. As a truly bilingual academic pillar, DHS-BSP is designed to provide our students with a strong language foundation to study General Paper, Knowledge & Inquiry, China Studies (Chinese) or Chinese Language and Literature H2 at GCE 'A' levels. At the same time, the DHS-BSP also aims to imbue in our students a broader mindset and critical thinking skills, so as to prepare them for the world of tomorrow.
二、德明双文化课程＝高级华文＋双文化深广课程＋英文文艺
在德明政府中学，双文化课程的华文与英文老师携手策划"双语课程"。这项深广课程包括了文艺、戏剧艺术与语文翻译的学习，让学生在强化写作与口语能力的过程中提升创意和批判性思维能力。英文文艺课程着重于训练学生对文学文本的分析及鉴赏能力；华文课则着重于训练学生的语文书写能力以及认识中西文化差异的辨析能力。德明政府中学秉持着培养双语人材的信念，在每个学年末挑选一批中三生修读两年的德明"双文化深广课程"，编写"双文化深广课"让他们多了解对中国近当代历史及社会状况，以让他们日后能够与中国进行深一层的交流。
为了让德明双文化学生进一步认识中国及西方社会的现况，德明双文化课程与中国及美国中学及高校合作设计浸濡交流课程。高中学生甚至能在中国顶尖大学参与短期的学习浸濡计划，体验当“大学生”的经历。在所有的中国浸濡计划中，德明双文化课程特意安排学生参观中国当地农村、政府机关及私人企业工厂，加强学生对当代中国经济与政治发展的了解。
The DHS-BSP Fusion = Higher Chinese + BSP Electives + English Language Arts
In DHS-BSP, Chinese and English teachers collaborate to design and implement the Bilingual Programme (BP) and Bicultural Studies enrichment courses. It is a dynamic fusion of language translation, visual arts and literary studies designed to take students to new levels of creative expression and critical analysis, while strengthening the fundamentals of formal writing and oral skills.
While the English Language Arts lessons enable our students to develop analytical and creative language and literary skills, the Chinese lessons focus on developing their writing skills and cross-cultural perspectives. In addition, DHS-BSP conducts Bicultural Studies enrichment lectures for our upper secondary BSP students, so as to motivate them to offer "China Studies" at pre-university level. Hence, the academic "bilingual fusion" DHS-BSP will produce Dunmanians who can interact effectively with China as well as relate to the West.
In order to provide an authentic learning environment for our students, DHS-BSP organizes exchange programmes with secondary schools and colleges in China and the United States. For our Senior High (junior college) BSP students, they can even participate in short-term immersion study programmes in top reputable China universities. To better understand the economic and political development in modern day China, special arrangements will be made for our BSP students to visit the rural villages, government ministries, private companies and factories as part of their immersion learning experiences in China.
