Level Camp 2007- Year 2

The Year Twos had some serious fun in the sun with during their level camp at Pulau Ubin.

For four days, they lived without the comforts of the modern world at their fingertips, without maids catering to their every whim at their beck and call. They enjoyed the company of their new friends across the level and worked through each and every obstacle with the cheers of their peers buoying their morale up.

BUILDING THE FOUNDATION

On the first day, the students were tasked to design their group flag and come up with a motto. Sitting together with their instructors, they got to know each other more and cooperate better throughout the camp. They had to pitch their own tents too, and most were successful, but a few groups had to toil to make their tent stand throughout the three nights.

CLIMBING ON

The students were all high-flyers ¨C literally ¨C at the high elements. Mustering all their courage, they conquered their fear of heights and everyone managed to make their way across the narrow planks. This exciting activity reinforced the lesson of the low ropes ¨C the sheer importance of teamwork towards individual success, when the safety of the climber depends on the belayer.

REACHING THE PEAK

The camp culminated in the campfire, the highlight of the four days. The thoughtful teachers gave the students a very cool surprise ¨C ice cream! As they sat around the campfire amidst each other¡¯s laughter, song and dance, it was so apparent among them as Dunmanians that they would always be together as one. There was such a strong atmosphere of unity among them, with the teacher rising to the occasion, that it was quite impossible to believe that they all walked into the camp as strangers having BONDed in the best four days of their lives
